I have this problem and have discovered many, many others do also. They explain it in different ways but the basic problem is the same. The problem seems to be in the Vista operating syatem. [b][color="Red"]The Windows Explorer stops responding and must be closed and restarted. [color="red"][color="Black"]
In my case I go on line and all is well for a while. I have two pages open and I go back and forth between them by clicking on the taskbar. Then suddenly when I put my cursor on one of the items on the taskbar all I see is the activity symbol and nothing happens. when I double click on the item I get the message that the Windows Explorer isn't responding. I then have to close the Windows Explorer program a reopen it. However I haven't lost anything I've been doing.
Restarting Windows Explorer again gives me the ability to use the taskbar to go between pages for a while and then the whole thing go bad again.
I've searched all over and found this problem of windows explorer hanging and failing to respond is exceptionally wide spread.
Has anyone heard of a solution? I suspect not.
PS: I've done a complete reload of Vista using the CD provided with the computer, no change. I've also run System File Checker, no change. My computer is a Toshiba and Toshiba has less knowledge than I do about the software.
