All drivers updated, device manager shows no problems

After successfully installing a beta version of Windows 7 I found that audio playback from all sources skips, echos and reverbs. The video may also stutter as well.

It was previously fixed until I re-installed Windows 7 to format another partition that have Ubuntu.

I've scoured th HP site for a common problem with no success.

Is anyone familiar with this problem?
