hello, I have a similer problem to a previous post, but apparently that thread closed. last evening on my home computer, running windows 64 bit, home premium. I am not sure which of the hundred of nonstop updates from microsoft this was, there are so many, but I think it may be microsoft.net.
It completed " 2 phases" then shut down to reboot, and will not complete "phase 3". hangs longerst time at "0% completed, eventually gets to 83%, then rstarts all over again.
I have tried rebooting, tried to go safe mode, etc, etc. Alwyas starts , shuts down, and tries this last phase over and over again.
Dead in the water. Microsoft should be ashamed of what a lousy operating system Vista is.
What do I do. Can not even go to a restore point or reload vista because I can not open to do either of these. help!
