Hi
I have a Hi-Grade VA250d (well, it's a friends really) that seems to freeze up all i/o ports including keyboard, mousepad, usb, etc, at random intervals. For example, when it freezes, I can't get a response from the integrated buttons for WIFI on/off, etc, if I plug a USB device in there's no response (my kensignton key blinks it's light for 1/2 a second then nothing). I can only power down the machine by holding the power button.
I have checked through event viewer, system logs, etc, etc, but none show any error immediately before the 'unexpected shutdown' event.
I've read the massive thread on TechNet, and the only thing I see that may be relevant is installing the latest Intel Matrix Storage Driver, but I have no idea if that's relevant for the machine as the forum seems mainly to do with Dell desktops.
Someone with a laptop mentions disabling superfetch, again as I run XP I'm not familiar with this and how to disable/what it does.
If anyone can suggest any ideas for resolving this, I'd be greatful.
Specs:
