My friend who is a very smart guy but not very detail oriented bought a brand new Compaq Presario CQ60 laptop a couple weeks ago and failed to activate or otherwise install any anti virus software. Long story short, by the time I got it the hard drive had been formatted... without the system files... so the computer wont even boot without "help" The CDROM/DVD is fine, hard drive checks out fine, memory also. I am using Spotmau's Power Suite to see what is left. The "restore" partition is intact but I assume I need to boot some version of VISTA to access it?
The vista rescue disks I have for my 2 compaqs run but only long enough to tell me this is not the system they were made for. All my computers came with VISTA installed so I do not have access to a vista install disk at this point.
Can someone please give me step by step instructions on how to prepare and burn a VISTA boot disk? I have ISO Burner and a couple others for managing ISO files.
Thanks in advance!
