When I upgraded to 8.04, I had to do it from the CD. It wouldn't work otherwise. So when I decided to upgrade to 8.10 I ordered the CD. When I tried to upgrade using the CD the installation always stalled. I got a message saying it could'nt locate/install the X server. I didn't write it down> I eventually gave up. But now every time I try to update I get the following:
Please insert the disk labeled Ubunt 8_10_intrepid ibex_Please i386 (20081029.5) in drive /cdrom/
Which I do but that leads to the following message:
w: failed to fetch cdrom [Ubuntu_6.10_intrepid ibex_-Release i386 (20081029.5) pool/main/l/linu-atm/libatm1_2.4.1-17.2_ i386.deb
Interestingly enough, the libatm file is included in the latest update. The packages seem to download but the update manager doesn't install it. Perhaps it has to be done from the command line?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
