Virtual PC 2007 supports Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows XP Professional and Tablet PC Editions, Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition, Windows 2000 Professional and Server, Windows NT 4.0 Server and certain editions of IBM OS/2 as guest operating systems with full support for Virtual Machine Additions. [1] Support for Windows Vista as host and guest was added in Virtual PC 2007. MS-DOS and Windows 95 were officially supported along with Virtual Machine Additions in Virtual PC 2004, however they are officially unsupported in Virtual PC 2007 with no Virtual Machine Additions support.
Virtual PC 2007 hosts can also run on x64 versions of Windows XP and Windows Vista although 64-bit guests are yet to be supported. Virtual PC 2007 drops Windows 2000 support as host, and support for Windows 95, the Windows 98 original release, Windows Me, Windows NT 4.0 Workstation and MS-DOS 6.22 as guests.
