Hi
I am from the old school of getting out there, rolling up the sleeves and getting the job done.!! You need a new payroll system…leave it with me and I’ll make the necessary enquiries, get the best quotes, get the demos up and running, haggle the price and get it installed!! No messing here.. my motto is Lead, Follow or get the f@ok out of the Way!!
But now in the new era of red tape…I am being hounded by the pen pushers and need some help.
I have introduced a new Biometric Clocking System that has been accepted by all staff BUT I now need to ‘write something up on it’. I believe these days its called a SOP – Standard Operating Procedure. Not having had to do one in the past… would anyone have any help they could give me. I appreciate that I should have something down in writing about the system ‘in case I get knocked down by a bus’ and someone else needs to operate the system if I am not here. But what do I need to write down ??? Is it a simple document stating:
Step I – Turn on the Computer.
Step 2. Click This Icon.
Step 3 Log on with User Name & Password
Ectera ectera ectera!!!!
I could sit down and type a whole epistle on the system …but is there some standard headings I should work towards. I guess that I would need these procedures to be able to stand up to scrutiny to internal auditors, internal trainers etc.
Gawd…. The world is gone mad!!!!!
