AviSub is an freeware utility that can mux up to three [srt/sub/txt(microdvd) or vobsubs] subtitle streams on an avi file.

AviSub generates an *.divx file with embed xsubs. Uses the latest technology of the divx6 codec. You can watch your divx films with subtitles on your divx6 compatible hardware player !

Here are some key features of "AviSub":

· Supported input video formats:
Most avis are suported. Avi2dvd supports all the avis that are supported by divxmux (made by the divx networks).

· Supported Input subtitles:

Avisub support srt/txt textual subtitles as input. It also supports visual vobsubs (idx/sub).

Usage:
· Load your avi.
· Just load your srt. At this time the program looks the width of every textual subtitle in order to fit it on the video screen.
· If the srt loads correctly then just press the "Generate Subbed Avi", otherwise try to edit the srt or just pick a smaller font (ex font size 21). The conversion takes only 5min !!!

Tips:
· AviSub seems to freeze on during the conversion but this is not true ! Just wait for a while...
· The subtitles on a few pc's even with the divx6 codec seems to be invisible. Just disable the subtitles [off] and reselect them . This trick seems to work !
· Under Windows Vista the progress bar does not work always well . Just wait till avisub finishes the conversion.

Requirements:

Compatible Software Players :
· Official divx6 player list. Take a look here
· Windows Media Player 10 with the latest divx codec
· Any directX capable player like Bsplayer, Arpa Kolla player or media player classic with the latest divx codec.
