hi there, i'm working with excel and i have an annual report. it's a pain to make the references every year and type up the whole thing.
the set up for the report is that there's 1 reference form for all the other sheets that shows the graphs and charts. the data shows all 10 years for each of the graphs.
what i want to do is to have only 1 copy of the reference form, and if i set the year as 2009, a new row will be created for that year, the last row, which would be the row for 1999 will be removed, 2000 to 2008 will move up a line now with year 2000 as the start. and the ref form will clear itself, and any info i add will be inputed into the new added row in it's respective places. however if i were to change the year to an existing data set, such as 2005, then it'll automatically show the data in the ref form for 2005, no new rows added, and any info changed there will only change the respective data for year 2005.
that's the general idea. wether or not the chart will clear itself is not important. the important part is the adding a row for each of the graphs automatically, as well as the part where if i put in a previous year and the ref form will show all the data for that year.
