Milošević to make final Serbia bow
Serbia striker Savo Milošević has announced he will play his final match for the national team in a home friendly against Bulgaria on 19 November.
Record cap-holder
The 35-year-old FC Rubin Kazan forward has amassed a national record 101 caps for Serbia, Serbia and Montenegro and Yugoslavia, scoring 35 goals. "I am very proud and happy," said Milošević, who last played for Serbia in 2006. "I have played so many matches, but the last one will be a great day – it is time to finish."
Distinguished service
Milošević made his international debut on 23 December 1994 against Brazil and played in two FIFA World Cups – in France 1998 and Germany 2006 – as well as participating at UEFA EURO 2000™ where he was the tournament's joint leading scorer with five goals. He captained the national team for four years between 2002 and 2006. The former Aston Villa FC, Real Zaragoza, Parma FC, RCD Espanyol, RC Celta de Vigo and CA Osasuna player has also said he will retire from club football when his contract with Rubin runs out in December. He started his career at FK Partizan – in whose stadium he will play his final international – scoring 74 league goals in 98 games.
