OA Partners with Egypt Education Ministry
Oracle recently welcomed 150 teachers to its Oracle Academy Institute, held at the Technology Development Center of the Mubarak City for Education, 6th of October City, Egypt from August 26-30, 2008

The Oracle Academy Institute is an intensive professional development program that prepares faculty to teach the Oracle Academy’s technology and business curriculum.
The curriculum focuses on database design and programming skills, and is delivered over two semesters in high schools, colleges, and vocational schools globally.
To prepare for this live training event, teachers completed 40 hours of online coursework, quizzes, and weekly discussions with an Oracle Academy mentor.
At the live training event, teachers worked face-to-face with Oracle Academy instructors and demonstrated their readiness to teach the Academy curriculum by completing a class project and passing an exam.
Oracle worked in conjunction with Egypt’s Ministry of Education to deliver this event in support of the Egyptian Education Initiative (EEI), a public-private partnership that aims to reform education in Egypt through effective use of technology.
This event builds on the success of last year’s Oracle Academy Institute in Egypt, where 200 teachers were trained. Currently, over 277,000 students from more than 1,800 educational institutions across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) benefit from their participation in the Oracle Academy.
