MGC Chatbox Evo

Warning : The MGC Chatbox Evo is not directly compatible with the previous MGC Chatbox, you must first uninstall the MGC Chatbox. No importer exists nor will be developped.

Functionnalities

Here is a small list of functionnalities :

• Ajax based and simple install
• Lots of options to customize the chatbox to your needs
  
• Intelligent chats retrieving for faster chatbox reload
• Many commands available with usergroup/user permissions to access them :
  • /me : well known IRC command
  • /del : remove shouts (different possibilities of removal)
    
  • /ignore : ignore shouts from another user
  • /ban : ban user from chatbox
  • /pm : send a private chat to another user
  • /announcement : modify the announcement on top of the chatbox
    
• Edition of chats by a double click on the chat (based on ajax)
  
• Possibility to create channels (unlimited number of channels)
  
• Usergroup permissions to access the different chatbox functionnalities
• Display chatbox on the pages you want (options available)
• Notification system upon new message in other channels (blinking icons)
  
• Inactive mode
• Chats archive page
• Automatic chats removal task
• Who is in the chatbox feature

Known uncorrectable bugs

• Menu problem with editor at bottom and prompt message in the chat input field

• [Minor] Veuillez entrer l'email not translated
• [Minor] When chats display option is "Oldest first", the chatbox doesn't scroll to new chats on load.
• [Minor] Too much space between chats in collapsed mode
  
• [Minor] Sticky chats not working
• [Minor] Chatbox smileys row still show while smileys disabled (see here for a fix) Not a bug, can't be reproduced
• [Minor] Possible issue with mod_security installed on the server (Post to help fixing it: http://www.chronosight.net/view/2007...ed-apache.html)
• [Medium] Chats doesn't get removed from the chatbox when the inactivity mode message is displayed
• [Minor] The command permissions query shall not be ran at chatbox initial display when the chatbox autocompletion is inactive
• [Major but non blocking] vBulletin confirm popup (logout or PM) have been reported by somes users as not displayed in IE when the chatbox is active (IE javascript triangle appears)
• [Minor] Missing indicator.gif reported in FF console error (see here for the fix)
• [Minor] Small template issues (see here for the fix)
• [Medium] Banning user only start applying if the banned user refreshes his browser.

• Command : Open url in new window command
• New thread/post warnings in the chatbox
• XHTML 1.0 validation
• Warning message in chatbox instead of empty chatbox when user has to fill in required fields that were just added (not present before registration)
• Option to allow user to set themselves as automessaging thus sending a custom message at a choosen frequency (min allowed frequency defined in the admincp)
• Try to rework the chatbox display in archives
• Change url popup to also specify a text in addition to the link
• Option to show the chatbox collapsed by default
• Color picker instead of dropdown
• Checkbox to hide bbcodes while inputing chat
• Correct the inactive mode message phrase
• Let unregistered users enter their name before they shout
• Change ajax to the new vBulletin standard (using yui connect) with failure handling
• Add a shouts searching system
• Option to log actions like ban and remove
• Popup that helps autopopulating the username for the pm
• Show number of chats in postbit
• Separate show IP from can manage chatbox in usergroups options
• Load chats on page load the first time and not by a first ajax call
• Option to set the chatbox width
• Option to set the styles in which not to display the chatbox
