Hello,
I thought I understood WiFi. My computers have always had built in WiFi capabilities, so all I had to do was throw a WiFi router into the mix and I was good to go.
I assumed that if a computer did not have WiFi capabilities, that one would have to purchase an access point. I've been researching access points as I am going to be adding an older, non-radio capable box to my network. Upon further reading, I've discovered that an access point is not necessarily what I thought it was - and not what I need? I'm reading that the access point is a central hub for all the computers?
Am I correct?
So what I need is to buy a wifi net card? What are these things called?
Thanks.
