OK, so, a while back. My computer was running beautifully. I had
WinXP SP3 on it and everything was running great. I had ordered Vista 64bit and finally got it in the mail. I formated then put on the 64bit Vista. It ran great for about a week, then all of a sudden none of my usb devices were working. They were all coming up as "uknown device" after I had gotten the "usb device not recognized" message. I tried almost every thing I read in a million different forums, reset the cmos, deleted the infcache. uninstalled usb controllers and tons of others. After weeks of trying to fix the problem and searching forums, I had decided to reinstall XP, because it ran great then. So I put it on and BAM!.. same problem!
none of my usb devices work! The crazy thing is though, none of
MY usb devices work, but my friends external hd works. I fished out my old usb mouse from long ago that hadn't been hooked up in a while worked. Weird.
It seems that all the things that were hooked up when the problem first started are the only ones that dont work, but they work on other machines. just not mine...
Any thoughts? aything would help! thanks!
