My setup is as follows:
Two Windows XP Pro PCs
Linksys (Wireless) Router
Brother HL-5250DN Laser printer.
I also sometimes connect wirelessly with my laptop.
The issue:
Up until about two weeks ago I was able to print from Desktop PC #1 to printer. Desktop #2 has a dedicated printer via USB and doesn't access the laser printer. I tried installing Brother's printer configuration on laptop so that I can also print to the printer from the laptop. After installing Brother's configuration software I printed a test page from the laptop successfully. I then proceeded to print several PDF files from the laptop and then suddenly the printer would no longer print and the print job monitor just said "Printing - Error".
Ever since that happened, I have been unable to print from Desktop PC #1. I reinstalled the Brother software and was able to print a test page and a few print jobs. I come back to the PC later in the day and I can no longer print.
I power cycle the router and then same thing happens as above (can print test page, a few jobs and then nothing). Each time I power cycle router I can print for a few minutes, then nothing.
I went out and got a new router. Same exact thing! I configure new router. PC #1 & PC #2 can access the Internet, but PC #1 can't print (but it does see that the printer is there).
Also, occasionally the laptop can't connect to Internet. It can connect successfully to the LAN but then not to the Internet.
When I walk away from the PC I always lock it (WINDOWS + L) so it can't be that someone (one of the kids) did something to the PC.
Any ideas?
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
