I have been given a Dell 2400 desktop computer. It is running the Windows XP Home operation system. It is working well with one exception. Whenever I try to download any software from a CD disk or from the Internet, the downloads start and then freeze at 99% complete. It will not complete the download. The only exception is when I download Windows Updates - then I have no problem at all. The only way I have been able to work around this issue is to use a USB flash drive. I use another computer to download the software from the internet to the flash drive, then download the software to the Dell 2400. Once installed on the Dell 2400, it works fine. Any ideas on how to remedy this issue?
I would appreciate any ideas.
