I have a doubt, i need to transfer some big files from my laptop to my desktop i had a cat 6 cable but when i connected them the computers don't seem to identify each other, i've checked the networking properties and everything looks good;firewall...

I have a doubt, i need to transfer some big files from my laptop to my desktop i had a cat 6 cable but when i connected them the computers don't seem to identify each other, i've checked the networking properties and everything looks good;firewall is disable i enable the netbios and still the problem. Am i missing something? please if you know let me know thanks.
