Hello,
My computer:
AMD Athlon 64 bit Dual Core 3600+2.01 GHz
1.00 GB RAM
Hard disks connected through SATA2, Two DVD RWs on an IDE cable
Until today, I had one physical HD (~160 GB, in first SATA2 socket) with one NTFS parittion containing Windows, another two ext3 partitions and a swap partition with Ubuntu installed, and a third FAT32 partition.
I have recently bought a new HD of 320 GB. Connected it (on second SATA2 socket), and booted. Windows told me it had found new hardware, but I could see no new disk in Windows Explorer. Tried running Norton Partition Magic 8.0, but it told me there was some problem with the drive letter (can't quite remember).
I rebooted, and got stuck at:
GRUB loading, please wait......
Error 15.
Disconnecting the drive didn't help.
I had an Ubuntu installation disk, so I installed it over the previous installation. I have also partitioned the new HD during Ubuntu installation into three partitions - made the first one primary and the other two logical - and formatted the middle one in FAT32, leaving the other two intact.
Now, I wish to format the other two (to NTFS and FAT32), but I'm not sure how to do it..... Windows Explorer shows only the middle FAT32 partition from my new HD, and ignores the rest.
Norton Partition Magic 8.0 now shows my entire old HD as type: BAD. My new disk is displayed with the partitions I've created, only that the ones I didn't touch during Ubuntu installation are shown as Ext2 partitions.
What do I do?
(Sorry about the extra long description, just wanted to include all info)
Thanks,
Daniel.
