i acquired a computer that my girlfriends brother built about 5 years ago, i use it for my work computer that doubles as a cash register. i popped it open to check things out (crazy dusty!!) and noticed that the Ram slot (i think they are the Ram slots) weren't all filled. now i use this computer for the internet and my accounting program and it isn't actually terrible as far as speed goes, but it isn't good either. so i am guessing it would take an older type of Ram (i don't know it you could even still buy it).
i am just wondering where i look to find out what type of Ram and what type of motherboard i have and all the info i would need to look into this further.
i apologize for the newb question (really i do), but i have to start somewhere i guess, right.
