Hello.. I just purchased a new vista laptop with Vista home edition on it.
When i set up the computer (just fresh out of the box) i supplied a user name, and a password as prompted.
I was curious, that the pc didn't come with documentation and some sort of Administrator password (or prompt me for one).
While logged into "mynewaccount" I performed a "net use" command and saw various accounts listed there including "myaccountname" and the account called "Administrator"
I called Gateway Inc Customer support and they said, the account that i created "even though its called "myaccountname" is the same account as "Administrator".
Is this true??? Im having a hard time believing this 100% (this is not true with XP) considering the separate names that came up in "net use" at the command prompt.
Anyways, I performed a safe mode boot and to my suprise- the Administrator account didn't come up, but rather the "myaccountname" did.
I guess there have been some changes with this from XP to Vista... I was unaware of.
Could someone confirm this, and let me know if Im looking at any potential vulnerabilities?
Thanks.
