This is my first notebook. (Really it was my son's christmas present, and it has been malfunctioning ever since. I hae other problems that I cannot fix as well.) I have had several desktops, but never a laptop. I have an hp pavilion dv2035 with quickplay buttons across the top above the keyboard. Itnhas Windows XP. This was refurbsihed through circuit city. As soon as I plug the power cord into the side of the computer, the mute button the the quickplay starts randomly beeping. It mutes and un-mutes on its own. I can't figure out of this is a hardware or software problem. I think it is hardware related. Is there a way I can disable these buttons? I have deleted all of the quick play items from the add remove programs list. I can't find anything else on the computer. Is there something in the bios I can change or disable?
