Hey all,
I have a question that I probably already know the answer to but I figured I'd ask anyway just to make sure.
I am planning on building a new system. I hope to use the new AMD Phenom II x4 920 Deneb 45nm chip. I plan on using an MSI K9A2 motherboard which features the AMD 790FX Northbridge and the ATI SB600 Southbridge.
My question arises with the chipset of the motherboard. I have an Nvidia graphics card that I would like to use and will need a second graphics card (most likely a cheap DDR2 card) to power my monitors (3 total) I was planning on getting another Nvidia card because I am partial to Nvidia but I guess my question is, am I going to see any performance gains/loss if I use 2 ATI or 2 Nvidia or 1-and-1 ATI/Nvidia graphics with ATI chipsets? I wont need SLI/Crossfire so that is not an issue. Just performance. Im not running top of the line graphics cards to begin with (currently a GeForce 8600 GT 512mb DDR3) and if I were to upgrade, I would go to an ATI DDR3 (and still get a cheap ATI DDR2 card or use my GeForce 8600GT depending on performance of mix-and-match).
Advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
