Hi, I have a laptop with vista installed. At home I usually plug a speaker in via the USB port and that works just great. When I unplug it to go out, however, I notice that
sometimes the sound function on my laptop would go out, with a little red x over the sound icon in the systems tray complaining "No audio output device is installed". In sound under control panel, nothing would be listed under the playback tab.
In the past, this problem goes away when I plug the USB speakers back in and restart. However, this time I think my USB ports are malfunctioning, and no USB device I'm plugging in is recognized. While that is a separate problem, the fact that I have no sound now on my laptop is really becoming quite an issue.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
