Asus p5e3 delux mobo (didnt get this one from newegg)
Problem:
I put the system together and it booted normaly. I instaled all drivers, except the mobo drivers i was dumb, and instaled fallout 3. While playing fallout 3 my G15 lost all power as did my G9 mouse. The game continued to play normaly, however i could not alt-tab or use my keybored/mouse. When my keybored/mouse lost power i heard a error sound as tho something had poped up in the background. I proceded to coldboot the system. When i turn it back on i get power, but no video. There are no system beeps, and all lights are green.
The only thing i could immagine is the problem is that the mobo i have requires a 8pin cpu power connector, and my power supply only has a 4 pin. After i noticed this i decided to goahead and give it a try and it worked. Could this still be related to me problem? Do i need a new powersupply? Is my CPU/Mobo fried becaus i was stupid?
Any help anyone could give onto this matter would be greatly appreciated
P.S. i do not have a diff video card that i could test the system out on, my old system used AGP the new one uses PCIE x16
