I am running win 2000 on a dell inspiron labtop 2500. I have a hawking technology wireless-g cardbus pc card. I have installed the software and it will find networks but I can't connect. The network cable unplugged is down on the taskbar but...

I am running win 2000 on a dell inspiron labtop 2500. I have a hawking technology wireless-g cardbus pc card. I have installed the software and it will find networks but I can't connect. The network cable unplugged is down on the taskbar but when I click on it, there are no problems. Under device manager no problems showing either. What could the problem be ?
