I have a network of 4 Vista and 2 XP machines that share files and printers. All of the computers work great with the exception of one Vista machine.
The machine can't see XP computers but can see other Vista computers. Unlike the other Vista machines it doesn't auto recognize the shared printers and instead they must be manually located. Finally, while it prints a test page just fine, after a restart it simply queues documents.
I've checked the firewall, network type, checked connection protocols, verified that the services were all running and nothing has changed.
Oddly enough LLTD, file and print sharing, and Client for Microsoft Networks were turned off, however, turning them on did not fix this problem like I thought it would. I wonder if whatever software / person turned that off also disabled something else but I don't know where else to look.
It's a Dell whereas the other working Vista machines are HPs all with the install that came preloaded if that makes a difference. My best guess is some preloaded software messed it up but I've removed most of the junk on there. Any suggestions save a full reinstall of the machine?
