I got it all set up and it is turned on, but the monitor isn't registering that it is connected to a PC. I could normally just troubleshoot my way through any problem that I encounter, but I haven't got a clue what to do now as I can't see anything. Basically new computer, just turned on, not much I can really do.

The monitor didn't come with the computer, it is a slightly older monitor. Will a new computer not run an older monitor? What should I do?
