I will pass up all the tech calls to my IP provider since it has been going on for 6 months now, but I have a DSL problem that won't go away. My house has been rewired for one phone line on which I use a portable phone on only, no DSL connection is available at that location. One DSL line ONLY which I have my modem plugged in, and several others over the past months, 4 total.
Here is the situation. My DSL doesn't work, RED alarm light is on, call tech, service comes out fixes it, don't know what they do, but its back up for about 6-8 hours, then off again. Repeat above several times a week. BUT, now here is the weird part, If I dial and local exchange like 713. 281. 1800, the red alarm light goes off and I can hear the data exchange in my phone and I have DSL again, slower than normal but its back as long as I leave that phone on line. As soon as I hang up its gone.
Consolidated can not seam to fix my system no matter what they do, new filtes, filtered my home, ran new wires, checked all wires in my attic, even blamed it on my house alarm system so they disconnected it from the phone line, and no luck. Is there anyone out there that has any clue as to what might be going on.
