Hey TSG..!

Recently my HP Compaq Presario V6109AU notebook has been overheating badly - and the fan never (or rarely) kicks in..

I looked around to see if this was a common problem - I found this:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...77&lc=en&cc=us

There's a lot talking about updating to the "latest" VF.3D BIOS.
"- Updates the fan control algorithm of the system to reduce the likelihood of future system issues.
- Fixes issue where the touchpad scroll function does not work on some notebooks.
- Fixes issue where the battery fails."

And the FAQ has A LOT about the fan 'problem'..

But when I checked my BIOS version, it is F.3E (after the "latest" F.3D) which I believe was installed when I sent my laptop in for repairs a while back. I found a couple of people with the same dillema on other forums, but nobody really knew if they should upgrade (downgrade...?) to F.3D.

Any ideas/links/info?

Much appreciated,

~Harley.

Don't think it's needed, but if system information will help, I'll post it..?
