Hi,

I am baffled and want some advice!

I have just upgraded a friends PC. It is a Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe mobo. It used to have two sticks of 1gb (800/5/5/5) which was running great, 128 mode, and I added the memory that they had bought (800/6/6/6). The bios settings were set to auto.

When it booted it stopped at the memory bit so I rebooted and this time it passed, but was running at 667. I went to the bios and manually set 800/6/6/6 which ran, but I started getting page errors etc. And it didnt boot everytime either.

I took out the original and left bios on auto, it detected the new memory and ran without trouble. I also ran memtest86 on both sticks without error.

What am I missing? Why does it keep dropping to 667?

Thanks,
Paul.

p.s. its vista 64 hence the upgrade to 4gb.
