I am not very knowledgeable about the inner workings of computers and would appreciate your help on the following:
I'm running desktop PC with Vista with 4 GB of memory. The Windows Gadget that shows CPU amd memory useage shows that memory is between 30 and 40% at all times and fluctuates very little when using different amounts of various programs simultaneously. My PC runs slower since this problem began.
I had this problem once before and had to take the PC into the shop because it slowed the computer to a complete stop part of the way into running a system scan using Norton Internet security. They said that the problem was caused by having Spy Sweeper installed with Norton Internet Security and/or my webcam. They subsequently removed Spy Sweeper and "fixed" the WebCam problem. Unfortunately I didn't find out what the fix was. After that the PC ran normally for several months until recently.
I'd like to figure out how to find and fix this problem myself since it apparently is not a one time event. Would appreciate any help
Thanks
