trying to make a wireless connection using the wireless adapter.
i can hook straight up to the router with a cable and the internet
works fine. theres no encryption enabled right now.
it is home built its an intel pentium 4cpu 3.00ghz with 1gig of ram
the motherboard package is in storage so im not sure of the model
anyway to find it without just having the box or remembering?
The os is windows xp home edition.

/showclassid Displays all the dhcp class IDs allowed for adapter.
/setclassid Modifies the dhcp class id.

The default is to display only the IP address, subnet mask and
default gateway for each adapter bound to TCP/IP.

For Release and Renew, if no adapter name is specified, then the IP address
leases for all adapters bound to TCP/IP will be released or renewed.

For Setclassid, if no ClassId is specified, then the ClassId is removed.

Examples:
> ipconfig ... Show information.
> ipconfig /all ... Show detailed information
> ipconfig /renew ... renew all adapters
> ipconfig /renew EL* ... renew any connection that has its
name starting with EL

When trying to /renew the ip i get cannot connect to DHCP server
I checked and made sure that DHCP was on auto and running along with DNS.

Any help would be greatly apprecaited
