Hope someone can help as I can't afford another Laptop at this time!
The laptop freezes without warning and has to switched off by holding the off/on switch down. When switching on again the fan comes on and the green light of the dvd player comes on but no Fujitsu-Siemens splashscreen and it just sits there with a blank screen. The first time this happened I tried using a the Windows disk to boot up, but nothing! The BIOS wasn't kicking in! So I disconnected everything, took out the battery, hard disk, RAM and then replaced them and it booted up OK. So when it happened again yesterday I repeated the exercise but this time it did not work!! Frustrated I waited for a bit (actually woke up in the middle of the night) and then I tried again, took it apart, put back together and it booted up ok.
I'm running Vista on Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo M7400 which is about 6 years old RAM 1.25GB
The questions are, what do you think the problem is? and is my laptop on its last legs?
