Hi, for a while now I've been having issues with my internet lagging steadily for like 15 seconds at a time every 20 or so minutes during the day. I've spent a while trying to figure out what the problem could be but I'm stumped so I've come here for help. Our home network is basically set up as such: at our home we have commercial class internet because my dad rents out a few servers. Our internet comes from outside goes through our modem (an Ambit U10C020) which I've been told runs in "Pass Through" mode and then plugs into two separate routers. One is my dad's business router which is a computer doing the routing, and it uses two of the IP's, which in turn directs the traffic to the servers themselves. The second is our personal wireless router (a Linksys WRT54G) which has all of our personal computers connected to it, as well as the gaming consoles. I know for a fact all the computers under the personal router expirience the lag issues and I'm hoping today to find out if the computers under the buisness router do as well. I was just wondering if there are any settings I should be looking at under the personal router that could be causing this lag. I've called the internet provider and they've assured me that the problem is not the modem so its got to be one of the routers. I'm also unable to plug directly into the modem because despite us having a lease for 5 public IP's, the cable modem we have is only able to handle 3 IPs at a time and the ISP keeps feeding me crap about there being plenty of room using a subnet on one of the existing IPs so they wont give us a new modem. Thanks.
