"IR Hardware Not Detected" in Media Center.

I'm trying my best and just can't figure this out.

I have Vista Home Premium, Dell XPS 410 with 4 gigs of memory, Core2Duo something or another.

There is an RC6 IR remote control and a long cord with a headphone looking plug on one side and a red signal thing on the other. I've got it plugged in. I still get the error when attempting to set up the tv.

I am using a Comcast Motorola HD-DVR DCH3416.

There is no Ehome Infrared or MCE Remote driver in my device manager, not under "Human Interface Devices" or the USB thing, or anywhere for that matter.

It seems I would just be able to install a driver for it, but I can't find just a normal generic driver for vista 32 and the remote.

Oh, and I have no idea what HIP or girder are. I really appreciate any help anyone can give me.
