I am going to buy Assus T3-P5G31 barebone computer. It has motherboard based on Intel G31 chipset with integrated Intel GMA 3100 graphic chip. will use my computer mostly for 2D applications, editing photos, watching movies. I will not use it for gaming.

How does integrated Intel GMA 3100 graphics compare to Sapphire RADEON HD 3450 512mb graphic card? Would adding this RADEON graphic card improve the graphical performance of my computer for my needs?

I am asking this because while motherboard has a slot for dedicated graphic card I would like to keep power consumption (actually noise) lower.

Thanks,
Dominik
