Hi,
1st and foremost, this forum rules. I've gotten a lot of answers from it and I've been a lurker for some time now. And now that I got my own questions, I decided to join.
My bud's got an HP Pavilion dv6000 and it appears his display is dead. His laptop turns on, but the screen is completely dead. We wanted to get some information off of his drive and he's too lazy to go get that display fixed. I have an HP Pavilion dv6000 as well. Hmmmm...
So I thought, "Hey, I have an HP Pavilion dv6000 as well. Would it work if I took my drive out and stuck his drive into mine... And then just simply start it up? Shouldn't we be able to just log into his drive and get the crap we need?"
Yes, dumb question. Shouldn't I be able to just swap his into my laptop just so we could get the info we need (pictures, music, a friggin WEP key and some other files)? Please feel free to shoot me down. But most importantly, let me know if my suggested method will work and if I'll be risking my own machine's well being.
Thank you all,
