I have an older system that is in a VERY dusty room, so decided to clean out the dust. I opened it up (on a tile surface no carpet) and it took some serious compressed air cleaning to remove the level of muck that was inside.
When I plugged it back in it immediately started running but I got no video. The power button is not controlling the on / off - if it is plugged in it is on, unplugged off. I opened the box back up and plugged it back in and it looks like the fan is running beautifully but not much else. I don't hear any 'booting up' sounds (and of course there is no video). I tried a trick I learned earlier on this site when I had no video and unplugged the computer and pressed the power button in for 20 seconds. That doesn't work.
Its a four/five year old system (that was working just fine before 'dusting') but I just wanted to use it in the spare room as an alternate computer. By the way, I sprayed away from the computer at first to release the initial liquid in the compressed air.
Any suggestions?
