ok,, maybe this is a silly question,, what i want to know is if playing games below the native resolution of a monitor (for example the native res is 1680x1050 and i play it at 1024x768 to improve performance and fps) can somehow damage the monitor......

i came out with this idea cos when i installed the monitor and had the windows resolution in 1024x768 the monitor displayed a notice saying that optimal res was 1680x1050 and after a little bit the monitor stop displaying,, i believe it is to protect the monitor,.......

maybe is only with windows and when i play games i can use any resolution i want....

thnx in adv
