Hi,

Sorry, if this is posted in the wrong forum, but if it is let me know and I will move it. I currently have a OLD Dell Dimension V400C i'm using as a file server & print server. It is a Intel Celeron 398MHZ, 224mb ram, 250gb hard drive, & windows server 2003 running on it.

Does anyone know if it is possible to turn this into a NAS? I have been doing research online and I know there is a open source program called FreeNAS, but I'm having trouble installing it. I am stuck at something like root menu. I am wondering if this is because I do not have a raid setup. I'm not that familiar with setting up a raid, but would this work? Buying a RAID card & some hard drives? Any tutorials or guidance would be great!

Thank you!
