For Christmas, I received a 16gig flash drive. My first thought was to put Linux on it so I could use it on my laptop. My laptop's hard drive is pretty small, and when I'm considering purchasing a new one in less then a year's time frame, I figured a flash drive would be much more beneficial then a new hard drive in the long run.
Anyways, I quickly found out that neither of my two computers support USB booting. Since then, my flash drive has been sitting idling on my desk, using it a few times to transfer files. Well, today, when I was trying to see what KDE 4 looks lie on Mandriva, I stumbled upon the Mandriva Flash 2009. I found this in the description:

How do I boot Mandriva Flash if my computer can not boot from USB?
Mandriva Flash provides you a bootables CD. A small bootable CD-ROM image is also present on the shared partition of the Mandriva Flash USB key. It is only 3MB, so it can be burnt on a credit-card sized CD-ROM. You can then make your computer boot on this CD-ROM (and make sure your Mandriva Flash USB key is plugged), it will automatically use the Mandriva Flash USB key. Once Mandriva Flash is booted, you can eject the CD-ROM.
Sounds exactly what I need. I almost purchased it, until I saw the steep price of $59.90, where as I only paid $20.00 for my flash drive that is twice the size.
However, I was wondering, what is exactly on this CD, and is there one freely out there that can be used for other distro's?
Thanks.
