Hi there, I have a Dell XPS 420. When I add any more than 2G of RAM, my wireless card has conflicts, and I cannot connect.
Originally I had a blue screen error 0x000000F. I've contacted Dell and they tell me this problem is caused by faulty memory. Ok. Tech came by, replaced all the hardware in my computer other than my hard drive. Then, we reinstalled Windows, as per instruction. Then, I was told to start the computer with 1G of RAM and keep adding until all 4G are in. Well, started getting problems after the 2nd G. The moment I add more than 2G of RAM (I have two sticks of 1G) the computer boots up, and the wireless card shows a problem and doesn't function correctly. I told Dell, they sent my 1G of new RAM. Same thing.
I'll call them back later, as I'm beyong pissed with dealing them right now - it's been over a month since I've first had the issue. Is this a hardware problem? I'm out of options here - I know enough about computers to screw mine up royally, hence why I'm coming here before I do anything dumb. If it is a problem that I cannot resolve, what should I tell Dell to have them resolve the issue. I've already had a tech replace most of the hardware (I've had 5 new G of RAM), and then reinstall Windows.
Help me out?
Thanks.
