I have been given a 3yr old Dell Dimension 1100 Series Celeron D 325 (2.25Mhz) with XP Home ed. Installed.
My intended use is just as a Downloading machine, nothing else.

There is something wrong with XP its corrupt or missing some files & as its an older Dell there is NO operating system disc shipped with the machine & no start up disc came with it.

IS there any way of fixing/repairing the required files with some one else’s XP disc, or ?
As the only value is the OP's ****** # I would like to try & solve this but if not I will just wipe & install a copy of Linux but would prefer XP.
