Recently, in boot up, I get the "preparing to install" message box at the blue screen. After about 10 seconds it goes away and windows starts up normally.
An application also recently went sour (Calendar Creator 12) so I wanted to uninstall and re-install, I have the CD. It won't open because it can't find or use one of the .dll's.
When I tried widows add/remove it says it can't uninstall because "another install is currently in progress."
I downloaded msicuu2.exe, but, of course I can't use it because it needs windows installer which won't run.
I'm guessing I won't be able to add any other new software or uninstall any other application as well until this is fixed.
This is all within the past week or so.
I'm running XP home SP2
Pentium III 800
512k
Help please!
