Hello everyone,

I'm running Windows XP on SP3 and I'm having an issue that's giving me fits. Lately any time I try to install something I get the message "The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode, or if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance.".

I've run through everything in this article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315346, and tried to install what I've been told is the most recent Windows installer, all with no success. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what else I could try?
