Im running XP on my laptop and i got this error message when i booted my laptop (Sony Vaio)
Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt
Windows/SYSTEM32/CONFIG/SYSTEM

I tried using Microsoft support to try and repair the file but my Laptop didn't come with an XP bootable CD. So i took out my laptop's hard disk and ran it on my other laptop as an external hard disk. I then backed up the files in the config directory and replaced them with the ones in the repair directory but alas it didnt help. Please help guys Egypt.Com EnForum
