I have a ASUS motherboard P5RD1-VM .
Last year I try to Install 2GB of ram sticks but my motherboard didn't recognize the 2GB, so I upgrade to 1002 Bios driver, It show the right amount of Mem. but the performance of the computer was pretty bad.

So I flash back to my Original Bios 0903 and Installed just 1.5 GB. the Bios recognize the right amount .

Well after some time I decide to download and try the Beta driver 1104 ... with this BIOS version the performance of my system is half and half , why ? ok .....

The Internet browsing IE, Firefox, Opera and MSN works all right no slowdonws.
The download of app. are ok no slow downs.
The Winamp app. for music and WMP11 are ok no slowdowns.
The VLC , Quick Time and Divx for watching videos and my editing app. for videoclips some hick ups
Photoshop is showing traces of slowdowns, loading screens .
Rhino 3d rendering very low performance
My video games are lagging, very slow some of them not even load the loading screen
SIMS2 , Mirrors Edge, Fall out3, Never winter Nights 2. slow performance lag.

So I flash back "again" to my Original Bios 0903 and Installed just 1.5 GB.

NOW....

Someone told me that ASUS have a problem in the Northbridge of this Motherboard and that's why will never going to work with a Video Card PCI-e and 2 GB of memory.

And someone told me in the AUS forums last year this:

( Well, If the games are horribly lagging, you need to increase the Shared onboard graphics memory.
But there is a performance penalty for this. if you change it up to 128MB, your comp will recognize 1.88 GB of RAM, hopefully that's fine with you.)

Do you guys think that this will solve that slowdown in the graphical performance issue and this will not affect directly my entire system slowing it down more?

Thansk you very much guys for any help and assistance.

Thanks
Toti
