New Computer running XP Pro SP3
Outlook 2007 froze up while trying to receive mail. I had to End Task. After this I noticed that some of my icons had changed to generic icons both on the desktop and the Start menu.
I have tried several fixes to no avail.
- Reboot
- Reboot/Safe Mode/Normal
- Changing the icon size
- Changing the color depth
- Tweak UI Rebuild Icons
- Deleting the iconcache.db to force a rebuild
- Increased iconcache in the registry
- Placing the desktop shortcuts in the Recycle Bin then rebooting and restoring them
- Manually changing the icons, which worked for a few but the Change Icon option was not available for all of them
- System Restore
I don't know if the Outlook freeze is related, but it was after that I noticed the icons. Appreciate any help
