OK - I want to move into the late 20th century. I am currently running Win 2K Pro and want to upgarde to Win XP Pro. I know it also old hat, but I'm cheap I have been looking online for the software. If I purchase a Win XP Pro upgrade will it install without wiping my hard drive with a fresh install?
Furthermore, a used laptop I bought seems to have a boot legged version of XP which MS doesn't approve of. If I buy the upgrade for my desktop can I use the same registration codes on my laptop so that I can DL the updates?
